Degree in Law and Politics (intermediate diploma) from Regensburg, Aberdeen (Scotland) and Hamburg. First state examination in law at the University of Hamburg, 1993. Legal clerkship in Hamburg with placements in Costa Rica and Guatemala. Second state examination in law in Hamburg, 1996. Completed specialist training in employment law, and is also a specialist in commercial and corporate law.

Professional career:

Called to the bar in Hamburg in 1996. Worked as a lawyer with a focus on commercial and corporate law in a traditional Hamburg law firm (Dr. Mielke & Streck), becoming a partner after three years. In 2007, the law firm merged with a highly specialised, globally-oriented partnership in Hamburg with a focus on medium-sized businesses. Spin-off of the commercial and corporate department, early 2015.

Chairman of the Supervisory Board of two major industrial companies and Member of the Supervisory Board of a medium-sized public limited company, Member of the Advisory Board of several family-owned companies, legal advisor to company advisory boards and supervisory boards, Member of the Board of Directors of a charitable Hamburg foundation, a family foundation and a corporate foundation.
